Premier League: Fulham Relegated As Man United Slip In Top 4 Race

Manchester United’s top-four ambitions suffered a setback following their 2-1 away loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Tuesday night’s Premier League game.

Scott McTominay broke the deadlock in the 13th minute as his low shot from outside the box nestled into the back of the net.

Wolves were back on level terms in the 25th minute thanks to Diogo Jota who raced on to  a defence splitting pass before shooting past David De Gea.

Ashley Young was sent off in the 57th minute after receiving a second yellow card for a dangerous tackle.

Wolves made the extra one man advantage count as Chris Smalling put the ball into his own net to end the game 2-1.

United are now in fifth position on 61 points in the Premier League table.

In their last meeting, Wolves also triumphed over United in the Emirates FA Cup, winning 2-1.

And in the other Premier League game played on Tuesday night, Fulham were officially relegated to the Championship following their 4-1 defeat to Watford.

Fulham became  the second team to go down this season after Huddersfield Town whose relegation was confirmed last weekend.
