An orphanage home in Abuja, located at Arab road, named “Divine wounds of Jesus orphanage home” was demolished yesterday, leaving the orphanage children homeless and helpless.
According to reports, the orphanage home is managed by a widow whose identity and name hasn’t been disclosed yet, she manages the orphanage together with her husband until his death. Since the demise of her husband, her in-law has been trying to claim the land on which the orphanage is built.
The widow and her husband built the orphanage home years ago, which had a school for learning and a church were the children all fellowship.
The land case is currently in court and they had earlier used different types of coercion to make the woman vacate the land, but where would she move to with 100+ orphans, abandoned and helpless children and workers? According to reports, the land belong to the widow and her late husband.
Defying court rulings, mobile police men with tractors was sent to the orphanage home which they completely razed, reducing it to rubble.

When I came to the orphanage home, I had just finished my JSS3 and I thought it was the last but this foundation put me in school to continue my education and now I’m a 300 level theater student of Kogi State University.”
She continued “this children are my responsibility, they are a part of me, I cannot leave them in this situation. This orphanage helped me so it is expected of me to do so to this children, because they are my only family.”
