Manchester United interim boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has confirmed that Nemanja Matic will be out for a couple of weeks with a muscle injury.
The Norwegian also said the Serbian could miss the club’s crucial clash against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on March 6. United have a two-goal deficit to overturn in Paris after slipping at home about a fortnight ago.
Matic did not travel with the squad to the Lowry hotel on Sunday for the Liverpool clash at Old Trafford. Instead, Solskjaer opted for academy player, McTominay to replace the former Chelsea midfielder in the United Squad.
“It’s a big blow, “Solskjaer said. He’s had a muscle injury so will be out for a few weeks’.
It’s one of those things so we will just have to manage without him.”
Matic has become an integral part of United’s midfield, alongside Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba, since Solskjaer took over last December.
He had helped freed Pogba, who has scored eight goals since the former United player’s arrival at Old Trafford in caretaker role.
