Nigerian forward, Samuel Chukwueze was the hero for relegation-threatened Villareal as his lone strike secured a 1-0 away win against Girona in the Laliga on Sunday.
Chukwueze scored the decisive goal in the seventh minute as he raced on to a through pass before slotting the ball past the keeper.
The win ended Villareal’s four straight games without a victory in all competitions (three defeats, one draw).
It was Chukwueze’s fifth goal in 21 LaLiga games for Villareal so far in the current campaign.
The win moves Villareal two points off the relegation zone to 15th on 33 points.
