WHY WIZKID IS A LIVING LEGEND?!!!!!!
Why do we think Wizkid, the original “Star Boy” is a legend or what makes him a legend. We would like to give the summary of who a legend is. A legend is a famous person who is remembered for his accomplishments or laying the foundation for something memorable.
Wizkid’s preferred genre of music is “Afro Beats”, motivated by the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti who was the King of Afro Beats then . Although, Wizkid isn’t the first to introduce “Afro Beats”, he sure is the First African / Nigerian artiste nominated seven times for the Billboard Awards and to win three Billboard Awards in 2017.
He is also the first to Nigerian Artiste to emerge on Billboard’s twitter real- time chart. He is the first Afro-pop artiste to be featured in the Guinness Book of world records.
Among these inestimable awards the NIGERIAN ARTISTE has received, he was nominated for the Grammy’s in 2016 but didn’t win. His third album (SOUNDS FROM THE OTHER SIDE) features international artistes such as Ty Dolla sign, Trey Songz, Chris Brown and MORE. The album debuted at number 2 on the Billboard World Album chart, 107 on Billboard 200 chart and 58 on Canadian albums.
What’s more fascinating apart from the astounding success is the age at which he attains them – 27 years! Not only did he receive all these accolades, he became the first African Artiste to “sell out” in the Royal Albert Hall as a Headliner joining “The Beatles” on the headliners List. The concert sold out in two days with over 5000 audiences attending the event.
If all these examples listed above doesn’t make him a living legend – then what’s left?!
