Wave making Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has become the second Nigerian artiste whose song will hit 100 million views on YouTube.
Alade’s ‘Johnny’, which was released in 2014 recently hit 100 million views on the streaming platform, YouTube.
The excited singer share the news on her Instagram page on Sunday.
She posted a short video of the song and wrote; ”THANK YOU – THANK YOU – THANK YOU. 100MILLIONVIEWS.”
She also promised her fans that she will be ”putting in more work this year” as she was encouraged by the support.
Davido, was the first Nigerian artiste to hit the milestone. In December, his ‘Fall’ song made history as the highest number of views, making him the first.
Few months later, the video that for long was the most viewed African video, Yemi Alade’s ‘Johnny‘ has followed suit, achieving the landmark number of views on the site.
Other Nigerian videos that are close to hitting the landmark number include ‘Pana’ by Tekno, which has been viewed over 90 million P-Square’s ‘Personally’ with over 87 million and Runtown’s ‘Mad Over You’ with over 81 million views.
