Former Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is close to agreeing deal with AC Milan, to replace Gennaro Gattuso as coach, France Football has said.
The 69-year-old, who stepped down at the London club after 22 years in charge, has been without a job since the end of last season.
Wenger revealed in October, that he would return to management in January next year.
Though he did not disclose his destination, he said the club would not be in Spain or England. According to the report, former Gunners Chief Executive, Ivan Gazidis, moving to Milan, was instrumental to the former Monaco coach agreeing to work with the Rossoneri.
It is also reported that the Chinese owners, Li Yonghong, who took over the club in the summer from Elliot Management Corporation, have insisted on bringing a coach of their choice to manage the club.
Wenger won three Premier League titles at Arsenal, including seven FA Cups and Community Shields.
