We Don’t Enjoy Denying Applicants Visa, US Embassy Tells Nigerians

The United States Embassy in Nigeria has said it does not enjoy denying Nigerian applicants visa to the country.

The embassy said this in a Facebook post on Monday in reaction to comments by Nigerians over the refusal of visa application to the North American country.

Some Nigerians had recently taken to social media to express their complaints about how they were refused visas by the U.S. embassy officers.

The embassy, however, said it would clear up the air on the visa application and procedures in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

It noted that some Nigerians who applied for visa fill their application form wrongly.

The post read: “Contrary to popular opinion, visa officers do not enjoy handing anyone the 214b refusal letter.

“Proof: Visa Officers will be live on Facebook to talk about some of the commonly misunderstood questions on the DS 160 and help you improve your next application.”

The embassy said its officers will be on a Facebook Live session at 2pm on Wednesday to answer visa questions and discuss common mistakes seen on the DS 160.
