Solskjaer Rules Out Ibrahimovic’s Man United Return

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has ruled out a return for former club striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Ibrahimovic told Mirror Sport this week, that he would be interested in a return to Old Trafford when his contract with Major League Soccer side, LA Galaxy, expires in November.

The Swede joined United in 2016 and won the League Cup, Community Shield and Europa Cup.

But speaking ahead of United’s Premier League away trip to Southampton this weekend, Solskjaer said the transfer will not happen.

“I don’t think that will happen,” the United boss said.

“He had a great time with the club and he’s had a fantastic career, but I would not expect that.

“If he was 28 not 38 in October, that’s a big difference.

“Zlatan had a great time here, he’s still doing well and it was unfortunate he got his injury here.”

On Alexis Sanchez’s loan move to Inter Milan, Solskjaer claims it will benefit the Chilean because he would not get much playing time at Old Trafford.

“Alexis needed to go. He’s been here for 18 months and it’s not really worked out for him,” he added.

“For him to restart and get himself playing regularly and scoring goals, that will only benefit everyone in the end.”
