Manchester United legend, Patrice Evra, has announced his retirement from professional football.
Evra disclosed this in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 38-year-old former left-back stated that he is preparing for his coaching licence while looking forward to handling his first team.
“My playing career is officially over,” Evra said.
“I started training for the UEFA B Coaching License in 2013, now I want to finish it and then go on to get the UEFA A license.
“In a year and a half, if everything goes well, I’ll be ready to lead a team.”
Evra joined United in January 2006 in a £5.5million deal from Monaco, and went on to make 273 appearances, scoring three goals.
During that time he won a Champions League, five Premier League trophies and three League Cups.
He left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2014 where he won three Serie A trophies, and returned home to France with Marseille.
