Manchester United midfielder, Juan Mata, has written to Manchester United fans, saying they deserve better than the shambolic performances put up by the players over recent weeks.
The club’s top-four ambition to was dashed on Sunday, following their 1-1 lackluster display against already relegated Huddersfield.
Posting on his weekly personal blog “One Hour Behind”, where he player usually post optimistic write-up after weekend matches, the Spaniard encapsulated the feelings of United’s entire fan base worldwide.
The former Chelsea player reviewed what has proved to be a rather underwhelming season at Old Trafford.
He wrote: “You deserve better. No more words needed.”
Weekly, Mata usually look forward to much of everything ;including upcoming fixtures, charity work, his teammates, training, the love he receives from fans and others.
Most strangely, he didn’t sign off with his usual heartwarming sign of “Hugs!”.
In October 2018, he cancelled his blog, following United’s 3-1 defeat against West Ham. He had said “It really isn’t time for posts.”
After the United’s 3-1 humbling defeat to Liverpool in December last year, Mata also kept things short in a post titled “Nothing to share today,” stating “I imagine that you all understand”. Manager Jose Mourinho was fired the following day.
The former Spain international is in talks with United over a new deal. The negotiations have dragged over lack of agreement between both parties.
