Nigerian international, Leon Balogun has expressed his delight after scoring in Brighton and Hove Albion’s 3-1 home win against Crystal Palace in Tuesday’s Premier League game.
Balogun, who replaced Pascal Gross in the 30th minute, scored a superb volley from a corner-kick, 25 seconds after coming on, to make it 2-0.
It was his first-ever goal for Brighton and also his first goal since April, 2016.
Speaking on his goal, Balogun told The Argus: “When I saw the ball bouncing I thought it’s going to be a tough one so it was ‘Hit it right!’.
“Luckily I hit it right – great feeling!”
Balogun is now set for a run in the side with Duffy facing a three-match ban.
And the former Mainz defender believes he can improve on a display which saw him give away a late penalty to Palace.
He added: “I’m a bit sad about the penalty. I see it as a dark spot on a great performance by the team being one man down.”
