Roberto Martinez, the Belgium national team coach, has urged Romelu Lukaku to leave Manchester United this summer.
According to Evening Standard, the player is ready to move on after being reportedly told by United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that he won’t be first choice striker next season.
Martinez coached Lukaku at Everton, and now at the international level with Belgium, for whom the striker scored three goals in Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Scotland this month.
The Spaniard noted that the best thing for both the player and United is for the Belgian to leave the club.
“It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United,” Martinez told Belgian newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws.
“It would be a good thing for both parties. It is now important that Romelu finds the right club.”
Inter Milan have been most strongly linked with a move for Lukaku, who recently appointed Antonio Conte as coach.
