Lacazatte Gets Three UEFA Matches Ban

Arsenal striker, Alexander Lacazette, has been handed a three-game ban by UEFA for last week’s red card against BATE Borisov.

 

UEFA made the announcement in a statement released and published on their official website on Friday.

The football governing body stated that  Lacazette will be suspended for a further two matches after he was given his marching orders in the final five minutes for a raised elbow.

After missing the second leg tie against BATE Borisov which Arsenal won 3-0 on Thursday, he will now miss both legs of the round of 16 clash with Ligue 1 side Rennes.

“Charges against Arsenal FC:

– Player Alexandre Lacazette – direct red card – Art. 15 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations,” a statement by UEFA reads.

“The CEDB has decided to suspend the player Alexandre Lacazette for three (3) UEFA club competition matches. The player, having already served one match, will be suspended for a further two (2) matches.”
