American comedian, Kevin Hart, has been released from hospital, 10 days after a horror car crash that left him with a fractured spine.
Hart will continue his recovery at a rehabilitation facility, where he will take time to to get back to full health after suffering “major back injuries” in the crash.
The 40-year-old was hurt when his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda left the Mulholland Highway and landed in a ditch on Sunday morning.
The vehicle was being driven by Hart’s friend, Jared Black, at the time, when he lost control and careered through fencing.
The car, which was Hart’s birthday present to himself in July, was totally destroyed in the crash which saw his friend Jared injured.
Speaking to reporters outside the hospital last week, Hart’s wife Eniko Parrish said the Hollywood star was going to make a full recovery.
“He’s gonna be just fine. He’s good, everybody’s good. Thank god. He’s fine, he’s awake.”
It is expected that Hart’s recovery could take up to four months and that he may need ’round-the-clock’ medical supervision.
Hart had surgery in Los Angeles on Sunday night, which fused the fractures.
It has been reported that there were two in the thoracic part of his spine and one in the lumbar.
