Iwobi Scores In Everton’s League Cup Win At Lincoln

Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi, scored his first goal for Everton as the Toffees beat League One side Lincoln City 4-2 in the second round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

 

The former Arsenal man scored in the 81st minute to put Everton 3-2 ahead, before Brazil’s Richarlison added the fourth goal with two minutes left.

Lucas Digne and Gylfi Sigurdsson got Everton’s first and second goals in the 36th and 59th minutes respectively.

Lincoln’s goals were scored by Harry Anderson and Bruno Andrade.

And at St James’ Park, Leicester City, without Super Eagles duo, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, beat Newcastle 4-2 On Penalties, to advance into the third round.

And in some of the third round draws that was held on Wednesday, holders Manchester City will be guests of Preston North End, Arsenal will host Nottingham Forest, Chelsea will face either Macclesfield Town or Grimsby Town at Stamford Bridge and Manchester United will welcome Rochdale to Old Trafford.

Also, Tottenham Hotspur will go away to Colchester United, MK Dons will entertain Liverpool, Luton Town will do Battle with visiting Leicester City and Everton and Sheffield Wednesday will face off.

The Carabao Cup third round ties will be played the week commencing 23 September.
