It was Barcelona’s first pre-season game, while it was Chelsea’s final game in Japan, which saw them return to winning ways after their shock 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki Frontale.
England-born Nigerian striker, Tammy Abraham and Ross Barkley scored Chelsea’s goals with Ivan Rakitic getting on the score sheet for Barcelona.
Abraham broke the deadlock in the 38th minute after he came one on one with Marc Andre Ter Stegen before putting the ball past the German keeper.
Barkley doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 81st minute after picking up the ball just inside the Barca box, he took a touch before curling it into the bottom left corner.
In the 92nd minute, Rakitic pulled a goal back for Barcelona, firing in from outside the box, to end the game 2-1.
Star forwards Lionel Messi and Luiz Suarez did not feature for Barcelona and it was a first Chelsea start for new signing Christian Pulisic.
Chelsea will take on Reading on Sunday in their next pre-season game.
