Paris Saint-Germain skipper, Thiago Silva, has asked his club fans to forgive them following their shock exit in the second leg round of 16 clash against Manchester United on Wednesday.
Despite going into the reverse fixture 2-0 down and missing 10 key players, United stunned PSG 3-1 at the Parc des Princes, to go through on the away goal rule.
Reacting to the shock defeat, Silva described it as a shame.
“It’s difficult to speak. It’s a shame. We played very well over there, but here we didn’t do the things we talked about before the game.
“We were on a good run and yet again it ends here. That’s football. Nothing worked for us. I ask our fans to forgive us.”
