Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, has confirmed that Mohammed Salah will not be available for the club’s Champions League second leg semi-final clash against Barcelona on Tuesday.
The Egyptian was stretched off after suffering concussion, following a challenge by Newcastle goalkeeper, Martin Dubravka, in their 3-2 win at Saint James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Reds will also be without Roberto Firmino, as they look to overturn a 3-0 deficit from the first leg at Camp Nou.
“Both are not available for tomorrow,” Klopp said at a press conference on Monday.
Salah, who is Liverpool’s leading goalscorer this season with 26 goals, would be a significant blow for the club.
They are two points above Manchester City in the race for the league title. A win for City, who host Leicester City on Monday, would mean that the new EPL champion would be decided on the final weekend.
