BREAKING: INEC Declares APC’s Bello Winner Of Kogi Guber Election

Yahaya Bello, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been declared as winner of the 2019 Kogi State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

 

Bello, who is the incumbent governor of the state, defeated 24 other candidates in the election, which held across the state on Saturday.

Professor Ibrahim Umar, the Returning Officer for the election, declared Governor Bello as winner of the election on Monday.

According to the result declared by Umar, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Ahamdu Bello University, Zaria, Governor Bello polled a total number of 406,222 votes, while his closest rival, Musa Wada of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 189,704 votes.

The APC governorship candidate, therefore, recorded a wide margin of 216,518 votes against his PDP opponent.
