Salisu Maijigiri, the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has told the Presidential Election Tribunal that Atiku Abubakar, his party’s candidate in the February 23 elections defeated President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his native Katsina State.
Maijigiri, called as the eighth witness, said this on Tuesday before the five-man tribunal led by Justice Mohammed Garba. He said contrary to results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which showed PDP to have polled 160,203 to APC’s 1,505,633 votes, the actual figures were 905,000 for his party and 872,000 for Buhari and the APC.
”We (PDP) are the one who won the election not APC.
“APC scored 872,000 and PDP scored, 905,000.
“These are our own results, we collated in our state not the ones from the server,” he said.
Atiku and the PDP are claiming to be rightful winners of the election which returned Buhari for a second term.
