Senator Ahmed Lawan, the Senate President, will lead an 11-man Federal Government delegation to visit and cheer the Super Eagles at the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Egypt.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Presidency on Saturday.
Other members of the delegation include Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives; and Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Also on the list are Governors Ifeanyi Okowa and Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Delta and Lagos states respectively.
Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); Habu Gumel, President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC); Olusade Adesola, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports; and Muhammad Gambo, the ministry’s Director of Facilities, are also part of the delegation.
Solomon Dalung, the immediate past Sports minister; and Hosa Okunbo, a representative of the Presidency, complete the list.
Members of the delegation are expected to arrive in Egypt this week ahead of the Super Eagles’ second-round game.
