The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Sunday lost 1-0 to Senegal in their final warm up game in Ismaila, Egypt, ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The only goal of the game, which was played behind closed doors, was scored by Everton’s Idrissa Gana Gueye in the first half.
Odion Ighalo made a return to the Eagles line-up while the likes of skipper John Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi, John Ogu, Kenneth Omeruo and William Troost-Ekong featured.
Also in action were Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze, Samuel Kalu, Daniel Akpeyi and Jamilu Collins.
It is Senegal’s first win against the Eagles in 17 years, after last triumphing against the three-time AFCON champions in a 2-1 semi-final win at the Mali 2002 tournament.
The Eagles will kick-off this year’s AFCON on Saturday, June 22, against debutant Burundi in Alexandria.
