Suarez Scores Late As Barcelona Beat Arsenal At Camp Nou

A late Luis Suarez goal saw Barcelona come from a goal down to beat Arsenal 2-1 in the Trofeo Joan Gamper Cup at the Nou Camp on Sunday.

Arsenal took the lead in the 36th minute through Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who collected a pass from Mesut Ozil, turned his marker before firing into the roof of the net.

In the 69th minute, Barcelona equalised following a calamitous own goal by Aisley Maitland-Niles, whose back pass to Bernd Leno went past the German and rolled into an empty net.

And in the 90th minute, Suarez, who came on in the second half, won it for Barcelona as his acrobatic volley off Sergi Roberto’s floated pass, ended inside the back of the net.

Arsenal’s record signing Nicolas Pepe did not make the trip for the clash, while Barcelona’s skipper Lionel Messi was benched for the encounter.

It was Arsenal’s final game in pre-season and their third defeat following losses to Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon.

They will kick-off their Premier League campaign against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday.
