Spain Manager, Luis Enrique Quits

Luis Enrique has stepped down as Spain manager due to personal reasons.

The Spanish Football Federation made the announcement on Wednesday.

Enrique was appointed manager of Spain, replacing interim boss Fernando Hierro last year after their World Cup exit to Russia.

He has missed their past three internationals having been on leave and will be replaced by his assistant, Robert Moreno.

RFEF president Luis Rubiales confirmed the managerial changes on Wednesday afternoon.

He was absent from their Euro 2020 qualifier against Malta back in March, citing ‘an urgent family matter’. He also missed recent clashes with the Faroe Islands and Sweden.

As Barcelona manager, Enrique led them to their second treble in 2015.
