Premier League: West Ham Hold Leaders Liverpool

West Ham United held league leaders Liverpool to a 1-1- draw at the London Stadium on Monday night to reduce the gap between the Reds and Manchester City at the top of the table.

The Reds have now drawn back-to-back Premier League games following last week’s 1-1 home draw against Leicester City.

Sadio Mane opened scoring in the 22nd minute for Liverpool, finishing a pass from James Milner with replays suggesting the former England international was offside before making the assist.

In the 28th minute, West Ham were level as Felipe Anderson played a quick free-kick to Michail Antonio whose effort came off the post before nestling into the back of the net.

It was Antonio’s fourth goal in his five Premier League matches against Liverpool, more than he has against any other side.

The draw means Liverpool are now on 62 points, just three points ahead of second placed Manchester City in the league table.

A win for Manchester City away to Everton in Wednesday’s Premier League game would see them go top on the log.
