Neymar Reportedly Agrees Conditions For Barcelona Return

Neymar has agreed to reduce his salary and apologise to Barcelona fans over the manner he left the club, as conditions for a return to the club, a report says.

Sport, a Spanish publication, claimed that the player has agreed personal terms with the La Liga champions.

The Brazilian had reportedly been itching for a move away from Paris Saint-Germain, two years after his world record transfer fee.

The 27-year-old left Barcelona for France in 2017 for £198million, in a controversial circumstance, in which he forced his way out of the club, having claimed that he was in the shadow of Lionel Messi.

He was said to have regretted the move since then, with several reports linking him back to Spain with either Real Madrid or the Catalans.

Reports say he could finally have his way now, after he allegedly told PSG owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, that he wanted to leave.

According to Sport, the forward texted many Barcelona players last week, saying: “Relax, I’ll come.”

It also said the forward has agreed to two major concessions, in order for a deal to go through.

The report added that Neymar has agreed to lower his salary by almost half of his current wages, believed to be around £550,000-per-week.

In addition, he has as well agree to withdraw his lawsuit against the club over his unpaid loyalty bonus in 2017.

However, the only stumbling block could be Barcelona and PSG reaching a deal.

The club are said to have sent multiple offers to the Ligue 1 champions for a deal, with one being a £89 million payment plus Ivan Rakitic, Ousmane Dembele and Samuel Umtiti, and the other offer being a £90 million fee plus Philippe Coutinho in exchange.

PSG are also willing to let the former Santos’ striker leave this summer, after Al-Khelaifi insisted that he didn’t want any “superstar behaviour” at the club.

In an interview last week, he stated that nobody forced Neymar to join.

“I want players willing to give everything to defend the honour of the jersey and to join the club project,” he told France Football.

“Those who do not want that, or do not understand, we will meet and we will talk to each other.

“Nobody forced him to sign here, nobody pushed him.

“He came knowingly to join a project.”
