David De Gea Steals Show As Man United Beat Tottenham

Manchester United gave their top four push a huge boost as they edged Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 at Wembley in Sunday’s Premier League.

Marcus Rashford was the hero following his first-half goal which made it six straight wins for interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the first manager to achieve such feat in United’s history.

United had David De Gea to thank as he made 11 saves against Spurs, the most saves by a goalkeeper in a single Premier League game this season.

Harry Kane thought he had opened the scoring for Spurs on 32 minutes but saw his effort ruled out for offside.

Spurs were forced into a first half change as Moussa Sissoko went off injured and was replaced by Erik Lamela.

In the 44th minute, United went 1-0 up through Rashford who raced on to Paul Pogba’s superd pass deep from United’s half before shooting past Hugo Lloris.

Spurs came out more purposeful early in the second half but David De Gea produced two good saves to deny Kane and Dele Alli.

Pogba also went close for United but saw his two chances were well saved by Lloris.

Spurs threw everything in the closing stages of the game but could not beat an inspired De Gea despite Kane, Alli, Fernando Llorente all going very close.

United are now level on point with Arsenal on 41 points in the league table but remain sixth on goal difference while Spurs missed the chance to go second as they remain third on 48 points.
